Using merge tags in the global messages
In the "Gift this item" area of the site you have the option to enter in a global message to be sent to all of your recipients.
Within this field you can enter merge tags that will be replaced with their corresponding values as listed below:

{first_name} : The staff or client contacts first name
-
{last_name} : The staff or client contacts last name
-
{full_name} : The staff or client contacts full name
Make sure that you enter it as listed above including the curly brackets "{}"
A sample email would look like the following:
To {first_name},
Happy Birthday! I hope you enjoy your gift and have a wonderful birthday
